dry socket

by Cassie303, Aug 13, 2009 02:53PM
I had a tooth extracted 1 week ago and I was in horrible pain, so I went to the dentist (after a week) where I was told I had a dry socket. They packed the hole and said leave it in for 2 days then I can take it out and if it falls out before then it is ok. I am soooo scared to remove the packing because I dont want to feel that pain ever again. I read that you are supposed to change it every other day for like a week??? Is 2 days enough time to heal a dry socket?

yes that is adequate time. However, it would be a good idea for you to go in and have the surgeon take a look at the extraction area as well just to make sure you are healing well.
