how to clean?

by Jena_C, Mar 11, 2009 03:25PM
I recently had a bridge work done on my lower molar teeth.   I had my middle lower molar extracted 10yrs. ago
due to a fracture teeth.  Recently my dentist did a bridge work on that tooth by connecting with the adjacent
other two molar (did fit crown with the other two I suppose since the very last molar was chipped).   However, he
told me that under the bridging molar, he has to leave this space (I suppose thats the way to do it).   Its about
1mm space under this molar.   I feel food stuff goes in this space.  I don't know how I can clean under this bridge?
I do vigorous rinsing after brushing but floss doesn't go between these attached three molars and although I
tried to put a probe in this space i think I am causing trauma.   I am very new to this bridge work.
Would you be kind enough to advice?
Thank you,
Jena

Hi Jenna,
There is a thing called BRIDGE AID that you can get from any pharmacy. These are plastic pieces, that you can attach a piece of floss to it (threading it through) and you can then you an floss under your bridge. I would go back to the dentist or his or her hygienist. Here is a link to what these things look like. https://jawproducts.authsecure.com/bridgeaid-floss-threaders-sampler-p-65.html
