oral surgery and smokeing?

im haveing oral surgery in the morning and im worried about my smoking they told me to try and quit 3 days prior but this is very hard for a smoker, i did cut way back all week only smokeing a pack an a half all week, but i did have a few today what is going to happen is it really serious i have to pay cash for all this work and dont want to screw things up should of asked all this then or a few days ago

Nicotine tends to compromise blood supply of tissue , which may result in wound infection and delayed healing. Cesession of cigarette smoking is advised.
