second opinion on root canal

second opinion on root canal

I had bonding done on my two front teeth years ago, my bonding cracked so it was removed and I had porcelain crowns put on.  Two years later, I went to my dentist because one of my front teeth had felt a little different, pressure, but no real pain, no sentitivity to heat or cold or pressure--I just wanted to check it out.  He told me that he couldnt see any abcess (abscess) but could see a little calcification in the root.  He said I should get a root canal right away.   Since there is  no abcess (abscess), should I get a second opinion?  Would sinus congestion cause the front tooth feeling of pressure?   I dont want a procedure if I don't actually need it.   Is getting a second opinion common?

I have a concern over the fact that you broke your bonding. And the pressure pain that you feel. This could be something that might be related to the way your teeth come together or want to come together but they can not. Many times this can be misdiagnosed as need for root canal. You would want to go to a dentist who has training in occlusal disease and bite alignment. Everyone says that they do, but not everyone has the training because there is no formal training for it. I do not see why you should not.
