toothe extraction

by erthelf, Jul 06, 2009 10:44AM
I had a molar removed 5 days ago.  It was a difficult extraction and as a result i have experienced a throbbing and cutting pain in the area.  A blood clot formed on day 2, and the site is still very swollen though the swelling on my cheek has gone down.  The area is not infected and seems to be healing normally.  My concern is that it is still just as painful as day 1.  I have been taking Myprodol (ibuprofen, paracetamol, codeine).

Is it normal for an extraction to be this painful after this amount of time?
