Many addictions are fed by the attempt to self-medicate anxiety.  This sometimes includes OCD and compulsive behavior related anxiety.  There is some healthy aspects to the attempt but the techniques and choice of 'medications' is typically a disaster.

It comes back to getting serious help with the addiction and then taking on the OCD with the best combination of medication and psychological techniques.

Glad to hear you are in withdrawal, it may increase some OCD symptoms temporarily but take it as an opportunity to wrestle with them directly, hopefully with good professional help.
