question for pericardial dr.

I've been told that I have a pericardial cyst. The cardiac dr. said that he would feel more confident if a thoracic lung surgeon performs surgery on it. Would a thoracic lung surgeon actually be qualified enough to do a desection on the heart? his credentials state extensive experience on everything except none on heart issues. So I don't understand why the cardiac dr. feels the lung surgeon would be better qualified. Has anyone here had experience or knowledge on this? The cyst is next to my lung.

I'm sorry, I have not and it doesn't look like anyone else has experience on this either. I think I would get a second opinion.
