Dear Zach,
I am around your age and have had heart issues for a few months now. It's very debiliating and scary. I know how bad you must feel. I'm on a low dose beta blocker which helps with the fast heart rate. Also, I went to the ER and they gave me xanax to calm the whole body down ; )
I'm still learning and searching for answers also, but causes I've come across are anxiety attacks, hyperthyroidism, and electrolyte imbalance. A thyroid that is over active can cause many heart related symptoms and anxiety. chest pain, rapid heart beat, tachacardia, shortness of breathe. My tests came back hyperthyroid which is probably the root of my heart problems.
Also, I drink Pedialyte all day. It's a mix of potassium, sodium, and glucose. Electrolytes are lost through physical activity which is why many people drink gatorade. Electroyte imbalance can cause a lot of heart problems as well. Strain on the heart muscle, irregular heart beat, palpitations.
I began seeing a naturopathic doctor. If you find a good one, they can really change your life. They treat your body as a whole and you won't have to rely on prescription meds for the rest of your life. they also check blood work for deeper things that conventional doctors won't tell you about.
I'm sure you know of this, just wanted to give support ; ) take care,
<3
Hey there, all i can say is that I am going through the same situation. I've been having chest pain for over six months now and I understand exactly how you feel, my days are not normal, every day is ruined by the chest pain...every single day. I also have been to the ER multiple times for it and everything comes back normal; multiple EKG's, multiple bloodworks, cardiac stress test with ultrasound and nothing yet. everyone keeps telling me that it doesnt "appear" to be my hert but I cant help but think differently because of the pain. just two days ago I was in the ER because I felt pressure in my chest and i could not breathe, my blood pressure was 149/94 which was high, i am taking medication for that and it usually is 119/80, i got really freaked out and of course so does my family and that also makes me me sad because they get scared and worried. I finally got an appt. with a cardiologist but until two weeks, its the soonest they could schedule so hopefully there I can get some answers. The uncertainty is taking a toll on me, mentally and emotionally. I reccomend you go see a cardiologist and may we both get an answer to the chest pain. good luck buddy.
Best advice I have is to gather up your records/test results and get with a really good cardiologist who can hopefully get to the bottom of it.
best wishes,
Alyce
