Can a EF go from 23 to 40-45 in a yeat?

Hi had a total of 3 echos
1) EF 16. in 2014
2) EF 23 in 2016
3) EF 40-45 in 2017

In 2015 Started taking carvedilol 25mg 2x day
                      Aspirin. 81mg 1x day
                       Lasix 40 mg 1x day
                     Losartan 25mg 1x day
                      Spironolactone 25mg 1x day

Haven't changed meds or done anything different between this time and now in Feb. 2016 Dr. wanted to put pacemaker/defibrillator in but i didn't follow through. Had an echo in Dec. 2017. Went back today and said my EF improved to 40-50 and i don't need the pmd. While i'm happy still don't feel comfortable with this. Can the EF improve that much?
