Hi,
How is your uncle?  The most common complications in bypass surgery include: bleeding, infection, stroke, blood clots, organ failure and sometimes heart attack. How long his recovery from pneumonia and pulmonary problems will depend on the antibiotic treatment and if he has underlying medical conditions. Have an open communication with his doctors to ease any anxiety. Take care and do keep us posted.
