Coumadin

Coumadin

My husband had a valve replacement 3 years ago for the second time. A month ago he had a heart attack, after more than three weeks at the hospital, they finally got his heart rate to normal and sent him home. He's not doing good, specially with the coumadin the doctors put in on. Every time he eat, something, he got really sick (shortness of breath, blotting etch... he also have a rash in his back and his belly area.
He's on so many medications and one of them is making him sick, but the doctors ignore what is going on.
My question is at this point, what do we do?

None of this really matters except to relate my personal experience with coumadin therapy.  My aortic valve was replaced 34 years ago at the age of 30.  I have been on coumadin all those years with no problems at all.  The Pro-time is checked monthly without fail, and sometimes adjustments have to be made in the medication depending on diet.  I have never expereinced any of the reactions you mentioned.  I recognize we all have different reactions to medications.  Could it be some of the others meds?

Of course, follow your doctors orders.  I hope things get better for your husband soon,  Sometimes (especially after major surgery) it just takes time to get the body back in snych.
