Paralyzed diaphram

by xaviersnana, Aug 07, 2009 12:58AM
I had a triple bypass on May 15th. After about 2wks. i was having trouble breathing and coughing stuff up. I also was in alot of pain so I chalked it up to that. About a month later when I continued to hurt I got scared. On July 9th my cardiologst took an xray and said my diaphram didnt "look right" My pulminologst told my tht my "diaphram was "paralyzed" SHOCKED I asked how could this be??? He said tht this "thing called my phrenic nerve" had been damanged during my bypass!!! Needless to say I was SCARED. How does this happed and WILL I EVER be able to breathe fully agind? Thank u in advance for taking the time to answer.
