SERIOUSNESS OF ATRIAL SEPTAL ANEURYSM
I have been hospitalized  3 times for pulmonary embolism so a doctor suggested an echocardiagram with bubbles to see if the cause of the blooclots was because of a hole in the heart.  There is no hole in the heart, but I have been diagnosed as having 'an increased left atrial volume, as well as an atrial aneurysm'.  My family doctor cannot answer my questions about the danger or the seriousness if the problem, as he says it is very rare.
Any suggestions would be helpful.
