aortic dissection healing

My mom had a hear attack and when they went to do stints, they found that she had a heart that dissects. she ended up having a quad bypass. its been a little over 2 years and her cardioloist told her last week that her heart function is 15% and then this week he told her that her dissection is healed and her heart is in great condition. Is that possible?? she complains that reaching up to wash her hair tires her out and leaves her exhausted.. How is it that she is healed? She has had a problem with CHF. Its the tissues that are overloaded not the vessels though.. should we be worried that her PCP is just giving her the run around??
