Cardiomyopathy is disease of the heart muscle.  My friend has cardiomyopathy.  The doctor told her that 25% of patients would stay the same, 25% of patients would get better, 25% of patients would get worse, and 25% of patients would need a heart transplant.  If the muscle becomes too weak, a heart transplant is needed.  If the heart pump is weak, the heart will not pump the blood out to the rest of the organs.  Depending on how bad your cardiomyopathy is now would depend on whether or when you should receive a heart transplant.  When a person has cardiomyopathy they have a hard time breathing and get extremely out of breath.  Are you experiencing these symptoms now?
