healthcare

Im a 38 year old male with cardiomyopathy and CHF. Social Security has denied me benefits and said I wasnt permanetly disabled. Because of this, Medi-Cal has turned me down for benefits as well so Im now without any health insurance when I need it most. Ive worked and paid into the system for the last 20 years of my working life but cannot receive beneifits? I dont know what to do, if anyone can help it would be greatly appreciated. Thanks, John

Hi - I'm sorry you are in such a state and it should be an embarrasment for this country that you were turned down by SS.  Now I want you to try again!  But this time put EVERY problem and EVERY medication on the forms - even if they are not related to the CHF.  There is a guy on the net that can help for a small fee Fred Johnson - he wrote a book and will help represent you for much less than an attorney.  But even his book doesn't tell you to put EVERY ailment in the forms.  I did that high blood pressure, post trauma, ashma, and torn disc from a car accident.  I had worked all my life too and I was bound and determined to get SSI - you paid into it and you deserve it.  It's difficult because they make you feel like you are asking for a hand out but that is not the case!  Also see if you can get a doctor on you side, pay him/her a consultant fee (so they don't have to do it for free they don't get enough these days to fill in paperwork!) and try again.  Please I want you to get what you deserve and have as long and as healthy a life as is possible..  Good Luck!

How long have you had the CM?  What is your EF?  What symptoms do you have?  Are you currently working?  If you are, I think SSD is a lot harder to get. I was not able to work at all when I applied, and I did receive it on the first try, which is unheard of!
