hi i am a 39 year old male with a substantial smoking history..one year ago i came down with a congested chest that produced yellow mucus in the mornings.I immediatelly quit smoking and went to docters. Was given antibiotics a few times, but did not improve. This went on for months until i saw a pulmonary docter.x ray normal, spirometry supra normal,ct scan normal, bronchoscopy normal, sputum sample showed heavy growth of haemophilis parainfluenzae and immunology showed low anti bodies to h. influenzae. Was given antibiotics and hib vaccine.Basically i dont feel any better,i still have congestion, breathing problems and yellow mucus most mornings. This has gone on for a year now and i am very concerned, can you shed any light on this matter and is there any chance of getting back to normal..thanks
