Hi,

A person can have right sided heart failure without ever having left sided heart failure before. Although, ultimately biventricular/ both sides heart failure occurs, it can start with either right sided or left sided heart failure. The signs/symptoms are of course different in the 2 scenarios. The left sided heart failure presents with breathlessness, coughing, blood in sputum whereas right heart failure presents with swelling of the feet/swelling of abdomen etc.
I sincerely hope that helps. Please do keep me posted. Kind regards.
