what affect does dialysis have on the heart of someone with congentive heart failure
My dad has congetive heart failure and has a pacemaker he also has diabetes and is in dialysis. I am wondering what affect if any dialysis has on the heart?

I don't know the answer, but I will be finding out within the next month or so.

From what I've been told, dialysis helps lower BP, and it pulls a large portion of the built up fluid out of the body, so I would think it would help, rather than cause a problem.

I can't imagine being a diabetic, with CHF, and on dialysis.  He must beg for a drink constantly.  Being diabetic normally leaves a person parched, and dialysis does the same, yet they withhold fluids in order for the dialysis to do it's job.  Poor guy.

My thoughts and prayers are with him.
