PVC's

Did a 24 hour Holter Monitor because i was having palps . Had 2 stents inserted 2 months ago, Wasn't feeling well, had another angio two weeks ago, all was ok. Was having palpatations, Doc ordered a 24 hour holter monitor. Got results today, had 78 extra beats in 24 hours, said they were PVCs, and insignificant, said nothing to worry about.
He thinks its anxiety, nothing more (yes, I've been a little crazed since i was diagnosed with CAD and had the stents put in.)

Any thoughts? is 78 pvc's considered ok? normal?

I have CAD as well as 2 stents which were placed about 6 years ago. I was in my late 50's at the time. I developed PVC's which scared me to death and I saw my cardio A LOT. He finally convinced me the PVC's were benign and I would just have to learn to live with them, which I am working on. That your holter showed you only had 78 PVC's in a 24 hour period is NOTHING. I can have 78 PVC's in 1/2 an hour and as trus pointed out, there are people who have 50,000 or more in a day! You've had your heart checked and no problems were found, so you need to work on relaxing through the palps. Anxiety DOES make them worse. For some excellent information and support, check out the Heart Rhythm Forum. I think you'll find it very reassuring.

I don't have CAD (that I know) and I can have 500+ PVCs in a bad day. Some people (even very young people) have 10,000+  so I don't think the PVCs are very important in your case.
