Areola

Areola

I had a lift and augmentation about a week and a half ago. I was adamant that I did not want the lolipop or anchor scars, my surgeon assured me that neither were necessary, and that she could do the procedure completely through the nipple and areola complex. I am very happy with the size, and shape of my breasts, but the incisions look horrific! The areola and nipples are stretched to the point that they are completely flat, even indented. The incision circle has what looks to me like too much gathering of the breast skin all the way around. My surgeon seems very proud of the results, and promises it's completely normal, but I'm afraid that it isn't, and would like another opinion. I am willing to upload pictures, but I don't know if that's allowed, they would be quite graphic. if you were to see them, and agree that they will probably heel well, I could relax, but if you think they should be corrected, I will see another surgeon for further advice. I don't want ot get completely heeled only to be miserable with the final results and have a surgeon tell me that I should have come sooner....
Can I upload pictures, or would that be inappropriate ?
Thank you for your time!

When performing a periaureolar lift, the procedure involves removing a doughnut shaped area of skin from around the areolar, often also reducing the areolar size.  Of necessity, pleating of skin will occur (this does not occur with lollipop or anchor scars).  In my experience, the pleating and nipple flattening will resolve with time.  Since you are pleased with the size and shape of your breasts, I would recommend patience (four to six months) to allow healing and scar maturation.  It is very likely that the results will be quite acceptable by then.  If the results are not acceptable at that time, then consideration of a revision could be considered.  It is doubtful that any surgeon would be willing to immediately undertake a revision, which could result in a very unacceptable outcome.

Also, I wanted to ask you how I would go about finding a surgeon who is the best in a specific area- in this case, maybe skin grafting, or whtever you would call making my areoles/nipples NOT look like a kindergartener put them on- I have a feeling that I will be seeking someone to fix this, very soon. thanks!
