Blunt tip Cannula=no pain or bruising

I heard there is a new device that is FDA approved for use for dermal fillers that decreases pain and bruising. This  blunt tip cannula is used instead of a sharp needle to administer the filler, and  it has been used in Europe for a while now. Its is now available to doctors in the US.  I was told the best part is that it won't tear the facial tissues, as a sharp needle can and it decreases pain and bruising. Has anyone had their fillers done with the Dermasculpt (brand name)? I'm going to ask my doctor if he can try it on me. Less pain sounds great!

Interesting concept of using a fine blunt needle.  I've ordered a box and will give it a try.  With the addition of local anesthetics to most fillers, these procedures are now relatively painless.  Even with a sharp needle, bruising is relatively rare, but it is certainly worth a try.

Have you tried Dermasculpt on your patients? What do you think of it?

The Dermasculpt cannula i slightly more flexible than the majority of available devices. In some areas of the face this may not be the best solution since the cannula could be easily deflected from desired track. But, I hear, Dermasculpt will have a "stiffer" option.
The beauty of cannula is in extreme precision of injection especially in the areas where such precision is vital.
