Brachial plexus damage

Brachial plexus damage

I recently had a breast augmentation performed through a transaxillary incision. When I awoke from the general I had severe right arm pain. I was told by the nurses that the surgeon expected that because he knew he had "knicked a nerve" when my "arm jumped off he table". I am about a week and a half post op and I'm experiencing pretty severe shooting pain from the tips of my ring and pinkie finger to my shoulder when I extend my arm. The tingling and numbness seem to be getting worse and my wrist and hand are twitching.I am unable to perform simple tasks as opening bottles and even writing is a chore. I am getting very nervous that there will be permanent damage. Will this heal on it's own and how long will it take if so? Are there any meds that will help me with the pain? My prescribed vicodin doesn't seem to even touch it.
