Chemical Peel unsatisfactory results.

Hello Dr. Rosenberg, thank you for taking the time to answer my question.

Last February I had a Chemical Peel done for some acne scarring on my face by my dermatologist, at first it looked like really bad open red sores then over time it diminished somewhat. But to this day it has yet to fully heal and not much has changed, my dermatologists says I still have some healing to do but I get the feeling he's just telling me what I want to hear. I am growing concerned that I have made a big mistake and will be wearing this hole-like mask for the rest of my life, I just need some reassurance from a professional to see if I'm okay or if in the future what can be done to try and fix what's been done here. And unfortunetly when exposed to extreme cold or heat (like say from a shower) it turns blood red indicating the blood rushing to the surface and turns pretty well exactly like it did when I had it done a year ago. I have attached a few pictures to give you an idea of what it currently looks like. As you can tell it's taken an emotional toll on me. I've been using a cream he gave me since last April but I don't think it's doing much, it's called Hydroquinone, what are your thoughts on it.

I have reviewed your photos.  Since it has been nearly one year since your treatment, I feel the healing effect from the peel has occurred long ago.  Your situation is more dermatologic than directly related to my specialty, plastic surgery.  As such, I would recommend an opinion by another dermatologist to evaluate the current condition or your acne and what, if any, additional therapy (like lasers) would be appropriate.
