Crater in nose

Crater in nose

Hi Doctor,
I had a very deep blood vessel removed on the tip of my nose. I had laser surgery (Yag) performed at a local Dermatologist. That nigh it appered the tip of my nose may have become infected and leaked out pus. Needless to say I have a crater that will not heal. The Dermatologist tells me to wait one year before anything can be done. yt has been 5 months and its about 50% improvement. He claims he can use Dermabrasion to smooth edges and reshapre the tip. However, I am very skeptical and was wondering what alternatives there may be and should I seek advice from a plastic surgeon opposed to a dermatologist?

Any advice would be breatly appreciated.

Regards,

Brian

While dermabrasion is an alternative treatment for the crater, it will basically lower the edges of the crater to make the crater less visible.  Another alternative would be to complete excised the crater and re-close the area.  I would seek the advise of a plastic surgeon to see if this is a better option.
