Deviated Septum?

Deviated Septum?

Hi,
I was recently a subject in a research study that required an fMRI of my brain.  When I reviewed one of the images I noticed that my nasal septum was not perfectly centered (it was slightly displaced to one side).  I have never had any symptoms that could be related to this anomaly, and there has never been any traumatic event that could have caused it.  Also, the anomaly can not be seen externally.  I do occasionally pick my nose (it's not horrible, but it is a habit).  I was wondering how common these anomalies are and if nose picking could have potentially caused it.  Also, can I expect any problems down the road?
Thanks!

This is a question that is best answered by an otolaryngolgist.  However, I doubt if I hae ever seen a perfectly straight septum.  In the absence of symptoms of nasal obstruction, there is no indication for treatment.
