Drain and Activity Level

Drain and Activity Level

I had surgery on Thursday to remove a  large lipoma from my back.  I don't know the exact size but they said it was large.  I have a drain in I have noticed that if I am sitting on the sofa or laying down  the draining seems to stop.  The container at the end of the tube looks like a clear grenade.  When I empty it I squeeze it so that it creates a suction to aide the drainage.  So the tube going into the container gets clear like the drainage has stopped but when I start moving around it starts up again.  Is it best to move around to help the drainage or is my moving around causing more unnecessary drainage?  I plan to return to work on Tuesday and the drain will still be in.  I go back for my follow up next Friday.

Limit you activity.  Movement will create shearing forces that may require the drain be kept in longer.
