Facial Paralysis After Surgery

Facial Paralysis After Surgery

My adult daughter had surgery in 2005 for a cavernous angioma on the 6th and 7th cranial nerve.  She now suffers with paralysis on the right side of her face.  Her muscles are paralyzed resulting in a right eye that is open too wide and a drooping mouth (much like a stroke victim).  There is also a slight paralysis to the right side of her nose.  This is all due to nerve damage from the surgery.  In your experience can this type of paralysis be repaired?  She is only 28 years old and it is very depressing to her.
thank you for your time.

There may be procedures available to help restore some semblance of function of some of the paralyzed muscle areas.  This can only be determined by a direct examination by a plastic surgeon versed in treatment of facial nerve damage.
