Facial Paraylsis

Facial Paraylsis

I had a brow-lift and a lifestyle lift that included cutting around the ear area. After surgery the right side of my face was paralysed. This resulted in  the permanent opening of my right eye. The eye cannot blink or close. The left side of my mouth is crooked thereby causing my mouth to pull to the left side when I talk. This condition has been with me for 2 months now. I do feel that I have facial paralysis due to nerve damage having resulting in no control over the right side movement of my face. Can you help?

Your description sounds like a significant complication following the so-called "lifestyle lift."  This needs to be evaluated by a Board Certified plastic surgeon and also by neurologist who will probably obtain an EMG to determine if there is any nerve function and what level the nerve has been damaged.  They may also be able to predict the likelilhood of nerve function return and treat any intervening problems associated with facial nerve paralysis.
