Hardness of Lip Near Incision

Hardness of Lip Near Incision

I had a lip revision to remove scar tissue two weeks ago and it improved the shape of the lip. The lip area was very hard and numb post-op but has improved, except for the area where incision was made.

The incision area is still hard, especially the area just below the lip that that bled when stitches came out. Is this normal and how long do you think the hardness should last?

Scar tissue is forming underneath the skin as part of the normal healing process.  This will probably take months to mature and soften.  The appearance of this form of deep scar is a normal process.  Your surgeon can reassure you of this in a follow-up visit.

My doctor said the same thing but wanted a second opinion for assurance. Is it also normal for this area to be slightly raised up?
