Lipoma and Mesotherapy

Lipoma and Mesotherapy

I paid for five treatments of mesotherapy and have had two treatments (one in my lower abdomen and the other in my hips). I became extremely bloated both times, but was informed that this is very common. My first procedure was two months ago and my lower abdomen still feels tender and bloated. I now have problems fitting into my clothes and am embarassed of this newly developed pouch. Will these bloated areas ever go away?

Also, I was recently diagnosed with an extremely large lipoma on my left side. I have not had it removed because I am awaiting a referral from my doctor. I do not think it is wise to continue with the mesotherapy sessions, however would smartlipo or liposuction be a good alternative? Are there any good doctors near San Diego?

I appreciate your help!

Mesotherapy typically involves injection of a non-FDA approved substance (toxin) in an attempt to dissolve fat locally.  I doubt if you know exactly what was injected into your body. I also wonder if the physician who treated you discussed in detail what the substance was and what the potential complications occur with its use.  You clearly should have received this information before paying for and receiving this treatment.

There are many excellent and reputable plastic surgeons in San Diego. Check with the American Society of Aesthetic Plastic Surgeons (www.surgery.org) or you primary care physician for a referral.
