MItral valve Regurgitation and elective plastic surgery

Hi,

I am 36 years old and I run five miles a day, six days a week.  I have been told in the past that I have mild mitral regurgitation confirmed by echocardiogram.  I am considering having a tummy tuck and breast lift/augmentation.  Can anyone tell me if mild mitral valve regurgitation is a contraindication to anesthesia or elective plastic surgery.

Thanks

There are many patients who undergo elective surgery with a diagnosis of mitral valve regurgitation.  When undergoing an elective surgical procedure or even dental work (even dental cleaning) they are placed on prophylactic antibiotics to eliminate the risk of endocarditis.
