Morphea and chemical peel and foot surgery

Morphea and chemical peel and foot surgery

I have morphea on the chest, groin, arms, and perhaps two spots on the cheekbones. It is active now.
When talking to my dermatologist, he told me I could have a chemical peel of the face for age-related issues
and bunionectomies and hammertoe corrections.  He said there is little research on the impact of such procedures
on morphea.  He also said he has treated only a few morphea patients.

The foot surgery will become increasingly important as I lose mobility.  The peel is desirable but not essential.

What should I expect if I have one or both of these procedures done?

Thank you for responding.

I agree with your dermatologist that the pre-existing morphea will have little impact on the other procedures you wish to have done.  However I have no experience with performing chemical peels on patients with morphea, particularly in the area where the chemical peel is performed.
