Naval smells years after tummy tuck

I had a tummy tuck about 5 years ago.  Every now and again, my naval smells like something rotten inside. It's a strong odor which usually occurs after a bath.  Whenever I smell the odor, I usually swab inside with a q-tip soaked with  alcohol and stuff comes out like gooey white stuff.    It's not something that happens every day or every week but more like every few months or so.   I keep thinking that it will eventually stop but it happened again 2 days ago and more stuff than usual came out.   What could this possibly be ?

The odor is from bacterial growth.  At five years post surgery, this is not related to the tummy tuck, unless the surrounding scar tissue and healing from the procedure has resulted in a very narrow opening.
