Possible to loose hair from face lift?

Possible to loose hair from face lift?

Sir,

In 2003 I had a mid face lift as well as a brow lift.  I am, to my horror, expeiencing hair loss on both of my temples.  I contacted my plastic surgeon to inquire if this could be a result of the surgery and was told "probably not."  While I am not interested in blaming anyone, I want this to stop.  The rate at which the hair is falling out is, to me, very fast and my question to you is  could this be from the suture or scarring, would the hair loss stop if the sutire was removed, how big of an area would be lost, and would I be a candidate for hair transplant?  This is effecting my entire life.  Please help me.

Thank you,
Debra

Hair loss in the temple area following a facelift can be a result of the procedure when it occurs in the first several months after surgery.  If your hair loss started after three or four years following the procedure, it is too far removed from the surgery to be related to the procedure.  The cuase of your hair loss may need to be evlauated by your primary care physician.  You also need to see a hair transplant specialist for help.  Your previous facelift should not affect the ability to undergo transplants to this area.
