Pregnancy after hernia repair with mesh

I am 35 years old and my husband may want to try to have a baby.  I had an ectopic pregnancy in 2003 and a umbilical hernia repair with mesh in 2006.  How would the hernia repair with mesh be affected by a growing belly.  Would I automatically have to have a c-section because of the hernia repair, and will the pregnancy become painful as my belly stretches?

The hernia repair with mesh should not interfere with pregnancy.  Although the area of mesh repair will not stretch, the adjacent tissues will do so.  Check with your OB, but I suspect he/she will agree with my response.
