Problems with Tummy Tuck Surgery

I had a tummy tuck 8 months ago but my stomach is still swollen and now I have difficulty breathing and I feel fluid in my throat. My GP said I have water retention and has me on diuretics.
Since I have been taking diuretics I find my self breathing easier and the feeling in my throat is gone, but my stomach is still swollen and stiff.
I would like to know if Is it possible to develope Ascites from tummy tuck surgery and does my symptoms relate to Ascites?

An abdominoplasty is a superficial procedure that deals with the skin and fascia overlying the rectus muscles.  Ascites is the build-up of intra-abdominal fluid often associated with liver disease or a multitude of other conditions.  There is no relationship between the development of ascites and a superficial abdominoplasty.
