Reconstructive nipple tattoo artist

Good afternoon. My name is Jo El and I have been interested in reconstructive tattooing for some time now. I have a background in fine art and a professional certification in makeup. I think using my art to help boost women's self esteem in a permanent way would be wonderful but I am at a loss on where to get started. Does the surgeon typically do the tattooing as well or do they they have a special tattoo artist that comes in and applies it?

Is there a school ones goes to learn this? Googling on the internet hasn't lead to any answers but it did lead me to your wonderful and informative website. Thank you for any information you can give me.
