Revise arm reduction scar

Revise arm reduction scar

Hi, 3 years ago I made the mistake of having upper arm reduction. I was not properly informed of the severe scarring I would have. I am very fair skinned. The arm pit and first 3-4 inches of the incision have healed in a nice flat, skin toned scar. Since I am prone to freckles, the scar on the remainder of my arm has severe freckling in a straight line (the incision) I have tried so many fading creams, etc. Can a scar be revised and I will stay out of sun for 2-3 years and always apply sun screen, or will permanent tatoo be able to cover dark freckles on incision line? Who would think that the sun actually gets to that part of the body! Thanks for any information.

If there are true freckles along the scar, it may be possible to treat the area effectively with a laser.  Scar revision is also possible, but with some uncertainty about the outcome.  A local plastic surgeon can advise you about both issues.

I don't know if this will help you but it is worth trying. I have been taking large doses of vitamin B5 to treat adrenal fatigue. I noticed after some months that the long scar on my hand, that I have had for 30 years, had become invisible to the naked eye. Moreover, when I pressed along the path of the scar I could only feel about 1/2 inch of it. It was about 2.5 inches long originally, so the healing extended well below the skin surface. Since the only change in my regimen was the B5, I looked it up on the internet. I found it was used to lessen scarring. It's worth a try and it won't kill you. (I am taking 1000 mg daily. You might try half that.)
