Scar tissue after chin implant surgery

Scar tissue after chin implant surgery

I have had 3 chin implant surgeries over the past year. First it was too big. Second surgery they took it out and replaced it with a smaller implant. Third surgery, implant was removed. I am left with a very swollen jawline and I have been told my 2 different doctors that it is still very swollen and I have scar tissue build up due to all the trauma of the 3 surgeries. My chin is extremely masculine looking now and is very uneven. I was told that receiving Radiesse in my chin would allow the doctor to, in a sense, re-shape my chin and allow it to look more pointed. Much like a bandaid to the problem until the swelling fully goes down. I have also heard that steroid injections will help the scar tissue. What should I do?

You take very little risk by waiting to see if there is reduction of swelling and ultimately a result that is acceptable.  Adding a filler may not achieve the result you are looking for and leave you will even more chin volume that may take more time to disappear than acceptable.  Steroid injections may result in fat atrophy also producing an unsatisfactory result.  With examining you or knowing the details of the previous implant failures, your safest bet is to do nothing for a while.
