Scarred for Life?

I was diagnosed and treated for drug induced lupus from tegretol between 1996 and 2000. since then my symptoms have disappeared but I still have facial scars from the discoid lesions. They are on my temples and even one inside my nose. Most people don't notice them, but I do. Is there a way to get rid of these scars without creating new ones?

I have no experience treating these scars.  A trial of treating a small area with chemical peel or light dermabrasion may test the degree of improvement, if any.  Consult with a local plastic surgeon or dermatologist.
