Scarring Face 3 Year Old

Hi there,

Just wondering whether you might please know- My son fell off his bike, over the handlebars last year and has a scar on his nose. Its not very deep but is certainly visible. I wonder is it likely to stay forever? Or is there any hope that it will go away completely, I suppose its been nine months now.

We humans heal by the formation of scar tissue.  Often with maturation of the scar, it will become minimally visible (typically over a period of a year to one and one half years).  If the scar remains visible or unsightly, then consideration of scar revision would be appropriate.  Consult with a local plastic surgeon to determine the advisability of scar revision.
