Scarring after face lift

Hi, I had a facelift and upper and lowers lids done 21 months ago.  I have been left with extremely bad scarring running from the top of my ears down the sides of my face and down into my neck.  These scars are very long, bumpy itchy painful and ugly.  I have been using silicon gel sheets, mepiform and dermatix since the original wounds healed to no avail.  Can you advise on why this scarring happened and what I can do to get rid of them?

There are any number of reasons that scarring would be unacceptable, ranging from genetic predisposition for scarring to post-op infection to technique involved in the performance of the procedure.  At this time scar revision may be appropriate.  This would be worth discussing with your surgeon.
