Tick Surgeon

Tick Surgeon

Dear Doctor , This is weird , but , I had a tick burrow into my chin just under in lip line and not only have a enlarged pore there , but I do believe part of the tick might still be in there . I also have the same on my chest in between my breasts. I had a positive lyme test, and then was retested, and it was negative. This has been more of a nightmare getting a correct test result because I cannot find a plastic surgeon {My doctor recommends one} that actually does real diagnosis treatments in my area to remove the tissue for testing without making the scarring worse . Are there actual doctors in your field that take insurance to help diagnosis and treat diseases? I am in the Chicago-Land Area, Thanks!

If tissue is to be excised for pathological examination, some form of scar will be present (that's the way we humans heal). If excision is appropriate and necessary, then hopefully resulting scar will be minimal.  This however, is almost never completely predictable and depends on the size and location of the scar and your genetic heal capacity.  It is not clear to me if such an excision is appropriate or useful.  An infectious disease specialist should be able to determine this.

Thank you for your reply. I am going to see an Infectious Disease Doctor for more labs, but am still unsure on who best to remove this tissue for proper testing. I am not a vain person , believe me , it's just that I want a good clean lab result as more than one of my labs {skin and blood} have come back abnormal with no further explanations from the Dermatologist and my skin does not heal properly as well . This would be the probably be the reason for my Regular Doctor wants me to seek out someone in your field for this. Thanks again!
