Tinnitus in right ear after facelift surgery

Tinnitus in right ear after facelift surgery

I had a lower face and neck lift 12 days ago.  Despite the doctor using earplugs, blood seeped into my right ear.
At first my ear was clogged and a few days later, i went to the ENT doctor and he said i had dried blood in my right ear.  He proceeded to remove it,  which caused some pain.  I have had tinnitus in that ear since that time and have had all kinds of tests which show that my ear is fine except for a slight amber color on the tympanic membrane.
The doctor gave me Veramyst to spray in my nose for several days. So far no change.
I'm certain this tinnitus is related to the facelift?  What is your opinion?  Please advise.  Thank you.

I've never heard of or seen a patient with tinnitus following a facelift.  The ENT physician you saw would be in a better position to address the potential cause of this problem, which could be merely incidental to the facelift.  Certainly blood within the ear canal and on the tympanic membrane is not uncommon even if the ear canal is protected during the facelift procedure.  Whether blood seeping into the ear canal caused your tinnitus would be quite unusual.
