What is going on w/ me post-surgical?????

I had a breast reduction 6 mths ago and am still having problems. I have had 5 infection, which have been extremely painful. I go to my surgeon, he puts me on vicodin and keflex and cuts the area open a little and tells me to drain it until it wont drain anymore. Another conclusion he had was fat neucrosis.

Ok, It started draining December 25th and has drained since. Sometimes a little, most of the time quite a bit. This has been going on (off and on, mostly on) for the 6mths since surgery. Most recent being last week.

And its only the left breast, the right breast is perfect. The left one is contantly becoming really sore, then very red then extremely swollen and EXTREMELY painful. WHy is this happening? He has done 3 cultures and found nothing.

I am so aggrevated because I am not healing. Im tired of driving 45 min one way for follow-ups to my "infection".

When it drains, it is a yellowish kind of color with white particles which my surgeon tells me are calcium particles...although lately it has had what seems to be blood mixed in with it.

PLEASE do you have any clue what could be the cause of this. My surgeon has admitted that he is confused and does not understand what is going on. At times I wonder how I even have anything left to drain because it has drained so much and for so long.

any advise would be greatly appreciated!!!

It is unusual to have persistent drainage at this late stage of healing.  I can only speculate that is is due to fat necrosis, reaction (spitting) of dissolving sutures, or a combination or both.  I would speculate that this will resolve over the next thre or four months.
