breast surgery caused milk production

breast surgery caused milk production

I recently had a breast lift with implants.  It's been almost 2 months since my surgery and my breast is still producing milk.  The milk is leaking out so much in one breast that the incision has opened up and now I have a hole in my breast with milk constantly dripping out.  My doctor doesn't know what to do - he tells me that he has never known anyone to produce milk for such a long period of time after a surgery.  Is this common? What can we do to stop the milk from producing so my doctor can close the incision again?  What possibly caused this problem?

This is a problem I have not encountered.  You did not mention if there is any proximity to a pregnancy.  It may be worth consuslting with your gynecologist to see if any form of hormone suppressive therapy would be valuable.
