ear pain when reclining

I had a full face lift a week ago and am very pleased with the results already.  But for the last two nights, as I am sleeping in a recliner, I am woken with a sharp, stabbing pain inside my right ear.  The pain lasts for about 2-3 seconds but is excrutiating.  It feels like a nerve pain. I have no problem during the day.  Will this resolve itself over time?

This probably represents some irritation of a nerve in the neck that supplies sensation to the ear.  It could also be due to "referred" pain from an area of irritation near the ear.  In either case, I strongly believe that it will disappear completely with time.
