exercising after tram flap

exercising after tram flap

I had a prophelactic bilateral mastectomy with tram flap reconstruction almost 9 weeks ago. i am starting to get a muffin top where all my excess fat is accumulating, just above the incision line .  how soon can i start to excercise.  my stomach muscles have gotten stronger already in just 9 weeks, i guess being a mother of 5 helps since i am non stop.
is it ok to start exercising?

I think this is an issue that you need to speak with your surgeon about.  Since you did not mention if the TRAM lap was performed using a microvascular technique or with a pedicled flap, it is impossible for me to know how much rectus muscle remains.  Your surgeon will know this and and discuss his philosophy about exercise, which will vary from doctor to doctor.
