finding a surgeon/my age

finding a surgeon/my age

I have had a lower stomach skin fold since loosing alot of weight many years ago.  I am 57.  The skin under the fold now gets sore and is hard to keep dry.  My general phy. has suggested I may want to look at having it removed and having my bladder tied up all at the same time.  I thought I would just deal with this but as years have passed the fold droops more each year.  I am worried that since my skin seems to be sagging (and it seems everywhere) will this surgery just be for naught as I age?  When is to old?  I am of good health and do not smoke and have an occasional drink.  How long will someone my age expect to take off of work?  How do I go about finding the right doctors, is there a web site that will show me a rating or something like this?

Thank you for your assistance.   Saggy Ohio

It sounds like a tummy tuck (abdominoplasty) would be an appropriate procedure.  Your age is not an issue.  Find a board certified plastic surgeon in your area by checking the webs sites of the American Society of Plastic Surgery or the American Society of Aesthetic Plastic Surgeons.
